Ew. Houdini fly larvae. If you find these kleptoparasites while harvesting Mason bee cocoons, dispose of them however you see fit. If they are not removed, in the spring they will metamorphose into adults and repopulate.

We sometimes see bee tubes wrapped in plastic or paraffin during our Harvest Service.
Plastic traps moisture and pollen, leading to moldy, collapsing nests. Skip the plastic and use natural, breathable materials instead.
