Rather than admit I was wrong, I must now double-down on my position, as is tradition.

I had a Yaris AI (so basically the Mazda 3), and it had a knob where the center cupholder is. You also didnt have to reach up, but instead right where your head would be anyway. It would spin, but also go up/dkwn/left/right and press in. It was fucking PERFECT.

Car manufacturers take notes.
