Before and after - picked up this little guy from the gutter yesterday evening where it had huddled up, already ready to accept its fate. Completely emaciated.
It received immediate care in the form of subcut fluids, baby formula and all the warmth - totally different bird already this morning!

Skippy has such a little babyface, despite being almost 10 months old now, his cere is still rather soft and pink. He also still has a soft reddish patch on his chest, which usually fades before adulthood. 🤔

Skippy has such a little babyface, despite being almost 10 months old now, his cere is still rather soft and pink. He also still has a soft reddish patch on his chest, which usually fades before adulthood. 🤔

Still feeling art-blocked to hell and back even after what’s been five years now, so I’m doodling pigeon face studies in crappy ballpoint ink pen so I don’t forget how to even hold a pen at this point. 🫠

World’s most spoiled little b—, refuses to eat anything other than peeled sunflower seeds apparently.
(Eye got worse so now we’re on antibiotic eye drops on top of oral antibiotics, it’s not the eye seen in the video tho)

Why do I keep finding the absolute weirdest freak accident pigeons?! What even hurt this poor bird to leave a lump and cavity the size of my thumb?! And how did it survive to heal only to end up huddled up against the wall with nasty head trauma anyway?!

Although that said I did get a pretty neat free cage out of it all. Was on one of the attic we checked/cleaned and since it was to be thrown away anyway… YOINK, mine now. 👀

Today was probably one of the hardest days in my whole time rescuing pigeons. 18 pigeons locked up in an attic, two already dead when we arrived, six on the verge of dying. Three of those also died in our hands, despite the fact we immediately gave them infusions and all the warmth we could find.

Good news for you, I regularly visit some superbly angy forbidden squish orbs. This one beats me up good every time I come to check for eggs. 🥲 Such violence. I love them too. Pigeons are just magnificent really.

Haino has been sitting on these fake eggs since October 4th now, I admire his determination. I think his wife may be cheating on him tho, I only see her around now and then when I come by.
He always stays and keeps me company while I clean tho, as long as I leave his nest alone that is. #pigeonsky

Good news, today this little fella figured out how to keep their head mostly upright again. Hopefully it’ll stay that way now and it won’t go back to dragging it all over the floor the next moment it gets stressed out by whatever again.

He is INCREDIBLY shiny, impossibly so for the feral he is honestly. I’m suspecting there might have been an escaped archangel pigeon in the flock because even his butt is shiny. Like, UNDERNEATH the tail feathers! He’s fullbody iridescent minus the flight feathers basically.

Oh hey guess who‘s as late as ever to join the party. Went the entire time of lockdowns without catching it, didn’t even catch it at a con or other event… nope, just like that.
Luckily only had a one day fever and a runny nose now, with a bit of pressure on the ears. I’m more annoyed than anything
