I think these comments on reddit about tottmnt being cancelled sum it up nicely. The theatrical movies are the "main story". The cartoon is just a bonus. Kung Fu Panda and HTTYD also had cartoons between movies that you literally do not need to watch to fully enjoy the movie series alone. (1/2)

The stories for the show may not be canon. So they have played safe. So stuff like Shredder, Triceraton, Etc. are hands off due to the movie." User 1: "that's fair and i didn't consider that. i still loved the brotherly interactions though. Mutant Mayhem nailed that and the show did too. Hopefully the sequel is fine."

WIP2 was my main focus for D1 but deleting an old scene and rewriting it put my daily WC in the negs. I clawed my way out and barely hit 1k by EOD.

WIP2 is for my Bad Timeline Series. Donnie bonds with Casey after his dad died a few weeks ago. Casey is only 8.

Oh just the most awful experience of his whole entire life. No, that was wrong. Gram-gram dying was worse than this. He needed to get over this; it was over in a flash and he was still alive. “The Technodrome forcibly went up my cloaca and that caused tearing,” Donnie said, voice nearly hitching. Why was he being so dumb about this? April's pen clattered to the floor but she picked it up and cleared her throat instantly. “And we need help explaining that to the family?” His hands hurt from how hard he was squeezing them together. “I don't want them to know that part,” Donnie whimpered. Leo swooped in, sitting on the bed next to Donnie and wrapping a hovering arm around his raised shoulders. “I need to get an endoscope quickly and we all know how much Raph worries and how much empathy Mikey has and how stressful this must be for Donald-” “And hiding this from your family is the solution?” April asked, pulling a face. “We're temporarily hiding it so Donnie can get some steady ground under his feet,” Leo said, gently rubbing Donnie’s shoulders. “I suspect he has stomach ulcers and part of treating ulcers is lowering stress. Dr. Feelings is for healed stomachs. Raph's guilt is for a time when eating toast isn't pure agony. It's a temporary, strategic, temporary, alternate truth.” He said temporary twice. “I need to start raising my rates,” April sighed. “You said you'd do this pro bono,” Leo retorted. That's for lawyers, Donnie thought only to himself because his voice was going to break if he spoke. “Fine fine,” April said. “How about saying the wounds around Donnie’s rear end were bleeding and you wanted to create a private environment for your patient before applying ointment?” Leo nodded. “Does that sound good D?” Donnie nodded. “And you need an endoscope because he has... Ulcers?” April asked, switching her notepad for her cellphone. “Okay. Family group text will be as follows. ‘Looks like the marks left by The Technodrome around Donnie’s rear end were bleeding, Leo wanted to give Donnie privacy while he treated those and he is sorry he harshly kicked everyone out. Leo suspects Donnie has stomach ulcers and needs to get an endoscope ASAP. This has been a stressful and embarrassing time for Donnie. We are asking for a limit of one visitor at a time and for any well deserved scolding about hiding injuries to be held until after his suspected ulcers have healed.’ Does that sound good?” They were waiting for Donnie to respond, he realized. Most of what April read off he didn't pay attention to. He nodded feeling disconnected from his body. The text was sent. Donnie zoned out for a bit. Splinter was apparently the first visitor. “Why did you put my shirt on a pillow?” Leo asked as Splinter walked in holding blankets from Donnie’s room and a clothing dressed pillow. “Red is waiting for you,” Splinter said. “Leave a father to comfort his child.” The first thing Splinter did after a dazed and confused Leo left the medbay was get Donnie standing so he could properly make the bed up with all of Donnie’s preferred blankets. Donnie could already smell Leo's dirty shirt and couldn't wait to bury his head under that particular pillow “Hop up Purple, careful of your IV line,” Splinter advised, helping Donnie get comfortable on his stomach. “So an endoscopy, hm? I had an endoscopy many many many many years ago. I was on the set of Lou Jitsu and the Sword Guzzlers of Singapore. Direct to VHS. In which I had to go undercover as a sword swallower. Between sets I was eating these frankly too delicious little boneless chicken wings- or so I thought! Until this horrible agonizing pain clutched my guts. Oh I was screaming. Horrible horrible pain. Taken to the hospital. Manager already planning the music for my memorial. Talk to the doctor and they think a bone-in chicken wing must have gotten in my boneless order. I’m already trying to get my lawyer on the line. They give me the best drugs. I wake up and they tell me it was just gas. But it was painful gas and now I chew better.” Donnie stared, mouth slightly opened as Splinter's story corkscrewed around itself. All the questions he had swarmed like bees in his brain. For the first time in his life he fell asleep out of pure confusion. His last memory was Splinter resting the pillow over his head before taking his hand and holding it tight before going on to say he did successfully sue the restaurant out of business anyways.

“Your throat will be numbed,” Leo said, squeezing Donnie’s hands, “You will be pumped up with so much midazolam you will not care about a single thing happening to you. I know you have never been high but it will literally go down like this. Hey Donnie, I'm giving you some drugs now. Hey Donnie, the endoscopy went real well and you finally admitted that I'm your favorite twin while you were high. Still counts.” “I won't say that,” Donnie whispered. “Let me have dreams,” Leo said. “So yes to the endoscopy tomorrow morning?” Donnie nodded, but there was still a huge elephant in the room and if there was going to be a camera in him anyways he might as well ask the next logical question. (Without explicitly saying that what he was asking about happened.) “And what if The Technodrome went further down than just my stomach?” he asked, voice getting higher and more uncertain as he went. Instead of Leo answering he asked the worst follow-up question: “How far did The Technodrome go down your throat?” “That's a hard question to answer,” Donnie deflected. “It's internal, I'm not used to those feelings. In there.” “Best guess,” Leo pressed, voice unnatural light. Donnie shrugged, plucking at the yellow tight on his right arm. “Just... It would be more accurate to say I think it went up one end, down the other, and met somewhere in the middle,” he said, dropping the hypothetical act. Suddenly he was stewing in how gross he felt. Lips wobbling dangerously. It happened so fast and he let it happen. A painful horrible memory but in reality it was just a moment. Dumb that he couldn’t seem to stop obsessing over it. “Hey hey hey take a nice deep breath,” Leo said, standing in front of Donnie and fluttering his fingers against his neck. That was always nice, though Donnie would never admit it. “Okay so what if that's the case? Well step one is still doing the endoscopy. If there is blood in your waste after your cloacal fissures heal and it's black because it's from the small intestine then we can think about a colonoscopy- but, no pun intended, everything after your stomach is kind of on its own? Again a nice bland diet will help. Antibiotics will be smart. Either those hematomas heal on their own or they would have already been a problem. I am very upset you waited so long but since you're not already dead I think the main culprits are these internal stomach wounds that probably opened up because of your stomach acid and the tears to your cloaca. Okay?” “Okay,” Donnie swallowed, feeling closer to puking again. Leo went from fluttering his fingers to cupping Donnie’s neck. “I know I sound upbeat and happy but I will be freaking out about this once you're all better. It will be ugly- D look at me-” Donnie looked at Leo. Their beaks were nearly touching. “It's going to be so ugly. And loud. And I won't warn you beforehand. But I have unfortunately been mentally unstable lately and I can't send Raph and Splinter after an endoscope alone; they won't get all the things I need so we need to be calm. Cool. Collected. And most importantly all the bad thoughts, feelings, and self doubts need to be packed away into a small cramped box and shipped far away with no return label, okay?” Donnie had the feeling Leo wasn't really talking to him. “So while doing this I have contacted PR, on my phone, behind your head-” “PR?” “-and she's already- Yes D. I just looked at your cloaca and kicked out Raph and Dad without an explanation. Sure Splinter might have wandered back to his room but Raph has been trying to Mind Meld with me every five minutes-” Leo was interrupted by three succinct knocks on the door. “That's her,” he said, quickly cracking the door open and pushing Raph's face back while April slipped under his arm. “Public Relations Manager April O’Neil here. What's the sitch?” April asked, handing Donnie a business card. “April, thank goodness you're here, it's my twin,” Leo explained, shoving Raph out of the medbay with his foot before slamming and locking the doors. “He puked and defecated in a public setting.” “Classic situation,” April said, nodding. “It gets worse,” Leo said, holding Donnie’s shoulder. Donnie glared at him. “During a very private exam I had to ask that Splinter and Raph remove themselves, unfortunately they will want to know why I refused to continue treatment until Donnie was alone with me.” April was already taking notes. “And why did you need to be alone with Donnie?” Instead of answering for him Leo squeezed Donnie’s shoulder. “Because Nardo needed to apply an ointment to tears around my cloaca.” “Were these tears why you were bleeding?” April asked. “Yes,” Donnie answered. “Where did the tears come from?” April asked.

Donnie squirmed. The IV in his left hand itched. He opened his mouth every two minutes but never settled on what he should say. The IV was making him feel better already, but he knew Leo gave him something for the pain. He also knew that probably came with a mild sedative because he wasn't nearly as freaked out as he should be. Thankfully Leo's plan wasn't to clean the medbay until Donie cracked under the pressure. He brought the stool over and sat down in front of Donnie. Their knees touching. “This feels like an intervention,” Donnie whispered, looking down at his own hands folded in his lap. April's yellow tight got vomit on it. Luckily Leo still had the other leg and replaced it with that. “Do you know how you developed cloacal fissures?” Leo asked, holding the tablet they used only in the medbay to record patient notes. “It was The Technodrome,” Donnie said, something final and raw about saying it outloud. “I think you're smart enough to figure out how.” Leo said nothing for the longest time. “Let's start with the basics. The Technodrome punctured your shell then tendrils spread under your carapace. When you were ripped from the control panel it was like yanking a bunch of weeds out of the ground. However there was a coagulant on those wounds that helped you not bleed to death. Did The Technodrome go anywhere else?” “Yes.” “Can you list those places?” Sure he could. Reporting on where a tourist went in his digital theme park simulator. He could do that. “My ears, my mouth, my nose, my eyes, and my cloaca,” Donnie repeated in a dead voice. The gift shop. The cafe. After typing in Donnie's response Leo continued with a firm steady voice. “I have already looked at your cloaca. I would now like to look at your eyes, ears, mouth, and in your nostrils. Would you be okay with that?” Ten minutes later they were both back in the same position. Knee to knee while Leo updated the tablet with his notes from examining Donnie’s eyes, ears, mouth, and nasal cavity. “The blood in your waste was red which leads me to believe when going to the bathroom you reopen tears that are healing inside your vent. Some blood may be pooling behind your vent after you stop exerting waste and that would be released the next time you defecate. The treatment for this is soft food and external antibiotics. Internal only if it reopens. Otherwise cloacal fissures are something we monitor for improvement over time. Your mouth, gums, tongue, and back of your throat all have these wounds that I almost think are burns in various stages of healing. For the ease of our conversation I will call them hematomas as that is what the majority look like now. The inside of your nose has hematomas. Your ear canals have hematomas. Tissue around your eyes is swollen likely contributing to headache-like symptoms you’ve complained of to others along with dehydration. While these are healing it would be the best course to keep your diet free of food that is spicy, too hot or cold temperature wise, or has sharp edges. Because you will still have pain eating we will keep the IV in so at least you don't need to swallow water. I can hear congestion in your chest. I assume there are internal injuries going down your airway into your lungs. Is there anything you would like to say or add and has anything I said not made sense to you?” Donnie shook his head. Leo returned his gaze to the tablet, even though he was never reading from it to begin with. “Our digestive system is from our lips to our vent. It is a long tube. I can make the assumption that The Technodrome entered your stomach and left hematomas. I can then make the assumption that your stomach acid is not allowing those hematomas to heal and that would account for the blood in your vomit.” Donnie nodded. “I would like to perform an endoscopy to confirm this and to possibly directly cauterize any bleeding wounds in your stomach or directly inject medicine into them.” “Right now?” Donnie asked, stomach dropping. Leo didn't react. “No,” he said, looking at Donnie with his dark hazel eyes. “First I need to get the endoscope. I've always wanted an endoscope. I know exactly where Raph, Splinter, and myself are going after this conversation is over to get my brand new endoscope. Then tomorrow morning I will perform the endoscopy. I would like you to agree to this because it would be stupid not to.” The idea of a camera going down his throat made him so squeamish. Not just because he could still remember The Technodrome going too far down his throat, but the fear of choking on it. The fear of not breathing-

In times of crisis one's mindset is everything. Or that was at least the sage advice that Donnie remembered reading online after The Shredder destroyed their home. They lived at Todd's for a few months after losing everything. Gram-gram. Shelldon. All of their possessions. Frivolous things from their childhood so charred and dirty they couldn't be saved. Plushies that Donnie hadn't slept with in years had melted filling and burnt seams. Favorite blankets. Art projects to never be finished. Custom trophies and medals for games they made up for themselves. Gone. Shelldon. Gone. They were supposed to be grateful for what they had instead of obsessing over what they lost. What they couldn't get back. Where they couldn't ever return to. The shade of depression being easier to find than a sunny spot to bask in front of. In Donnie's current circumstances; (shivering, stripped naked, cleaned by others because he couldn't do it himself while dryheaving,) he tried to focus on his mindset. With a clenched jaw as Leo propped his naked legs in stirrups after shooing everyone but Raph and Splinter from the medbay. Bleeding from the ass comes with action first and explanations later as Leo worked at a frenzied pace. He could be grateful for Raph supporting him by holding his upper arms so he wasn't pressing weight on his healing shell. He could be grateful that Splinter was there with soothing words about how this was nothing to be self conscious about. There was no hiding the phantom sensations of The Technodrome when Leo pulled his tail down. Even Donnie hadn't examined the area with a hand mirror yet. He was avoiding his bleeding cloaca like it wasn't attached to him. Holding down a whine at all the imagined scenarios of what his brother must be seeing down there to make him pause so fast. “Dad, hand me a towel from over there,” Leo pointed. Donnie felt air rush by him. Leo placed the bath towel over Donnie’s pelvis then draped the longer side between his legs. Covering his exposed vent with a towel loincloth. “The injury is not life threatening. I need to speak to Donnie alone.” “What is wrong?” Splinter asked, standing on the bed behind Donnie’s shoulder. Donnie could only look at the ceiling up until now. Somewhere between Leo attaching the stirrups to the bed and getting Donnie into position he decided he only wanted to look at the ceiling. Now he glanced down at Leo. No longer sitting on a stool between his legs but standing. As if anyone would dare shoulder him out of the way and look under the towel for themselves. Raph and Splinter obviously knew something was wrong. “Purple?” Splinter asked, taking Donnie’s left hand like he would have better luck asking him. What could Donnie say? How could he explain it? If he knew how to talk about this he would have said something the second he got home. “I need to put topical antibiotics near his cloaca and I'm positive Donton would rather prop himself up on the table for a few moments while I do that versus having a small audience present.” Leo had a firm expression but it was Donnie’s nods as he spoke that convinced Raph and Splinter to leave. “We ain't dropping this, Leo,” Raph warned, eyes narrowing at Leo as he was ushered out of the subway car. He smacked his head on the top of the doorway and Leo took advantage of the distraction by not responding. Splinter only looked over his shoulder at Donnie with a mix of suspicion and worry before leaving. As soon as the door was latched Leo took his gloves off, washed his hands, and put on another pair of gloves. Yes, even though the prosthetic arm donned a surgical glove. “Did you know?” Leo asked, pulling out supplies. Lying was never something Donnie was very good at. As much as Leo tried to teach him he always had something wrong with his face. “I know there’s something wrong down there I’ve been scared to look,” Donnie said, arms shaking with the strain to keep his shell from pressing on the bed. “You have cloacal fissures, which are the equivalent of anal fissures but on your cloaca. I am going to disinfect the area then apply a topical antibiotic with a swab just on the inner half inch of your vent,” the towel was removed and a tray on wheels rolled closer. Donnie shook for a different reason now. “So here's the swab, putting the topical antibiotic on the swab, it's slipping in, it's done, it's out. This is my thumb smearing a dollop across the outside. No tight fitting briefs or shorts. I will clean my hands and get you a thick towel to sit on, yes you can tuck your tail up now.” As awful as it was, it was fast. Professional. With far less jokes than Leo makes during a physical. Once Donnie was seated on the edge of the bed with a towel under him Leo got a knitted blanket down from the cupboard so Donnie could cover himself from the waist down. The stitch was a waffle pattern and it was a pumpkin spice orange color. Instead of talking Leo cleaned and disinfected his tray, the stirrups, then unattached them from the bed and stored them away. Leo spent nine minutes making sure everything in the medbay was just like he liked it. The oppressive bright lights were still on.

“Fourteen,” Casey spoke quietly. “It's okay,” he said, wiping his nose on the back of his arm. “He's dead in my timeline but he's alive here. I try to focus on that whenever I can.” “Yes and his life is probably great,” Donnie interjected. “He hasn't the slightest clue how much worse it will get after hooking up with Leon. Poor clueless idiot,” he sighed. Leo took the well laid bait. “Hey! Whoever he is he'll be lucky to have all of this,” he said, thrusting his pelvis into the open air. “I'm not just a ten, I'm an eleven.” “Your personality docks you several points,” Donnie tsked. “And I regret ever opening my mouth,” Casey grumbled. Leo gasped. “I say my personality should earn me even more points. I have the looks, the stripes, and the charm.” “You do have stripes,” Donnie agreed.
