I think the primary issue is that act 2 of Wicked sucks ass and there's no good songs after the intermission. Putting the two together would sour people on the first part. The only way to do a Wicked movie right is to do 2 parts and then close the studio before the second one is releasable

Monster rancher 4 on PS2 has pretty good exploration which lets your guys learn new moves. But at that point Pokemon had a stranglehold on the market and the MR pretty much died

The thing about persona is that (with the debatable exception of writing) each game after 3's original release improves steadily. So returning to the old games without all the QoL improvements is a nightmare. Like why the hell can't I fast travel or control my party members in 3???
