You have outdated info. Steam enables the compatibility layer by default so LITERALLY (correct use of the word) all you need to do is install Steam, install the game, and click on Launch.

Music producer here. I use Ardour. It barely ships with any stock plugins so you'll be relying on external ones a lot, but other than that it's got a ton of features (even a clip launcher like Ableton's) and the workflow feels great.

I've heard that Studio One has (beta) Linux support, but only under the Wayland display server. That seems to be the source of most of your problems here: you're using Mint which only offers environments with the Xorg display server and none with Wayland (at least not yet).

I kinda get what you mean. I think out of all the stories I've read, The Crying of Lot 49 might be the one with the most "default" female main character (Oedipa), but I can't really explain why.

it goes beyond that, I mean there have been cases of AI music being used to maliciously copyright-strike the original songs that they're trained on, because AI bros are just that petty. even if there is no listener involved, it can still harm you.

any website can be illegally crawled, but if you accept this you music can be legally crawled, and maybe one day that will make a difference

Yeah and the message of the story is "you can't make good art unless you suffer" which is not only untrue but also toxic as fuck.

That sucks. You should always keep a backup of your important projects and such. I back my stuff up to an external hard drive once a month. If you don't have anything to back up to, you could use a cloud service. Backups are very important.
