Trees. Treats. Triathlons.

Making government more effective, efficient, and above all, more human.
This is the right perspective: "And just like that, the world’s largest provider of food aid has been shuttered at the whim of the world’s richest man. Does he understand what he is doing?"

This includes all resource pages for PrEP, which reduces HIV transmission rates by 60-93%. This will cost lives...and less importantly, dollars in health care expenditures #DOGE #efficiency #PREP #LGBT #HIV #AIDS

A lot of friends are holding out hope for 2026 midterms, but (1) That's two years of wreckage; and (2) The existing regime is already sidestepping Congress, and not even trying to play with those on their side of the aisle. We need to use new, bigger tools to solve new, and bigger problems.

And it’s even more frustrating that MAGA doesn’t hold itself to the same standards. The cruelty and name calling is often the point. But in this case fighting fire with fire only causes more fire.

I personally struggle with my anger at the electorate, but @mcuban.bsky.social is spot on. We can’t attract alienated voters by…alienating them further.

The idea that the administration is pro law-enforcement is absurd. It’s entirely selective based off perceived fealty to the guy at the top.

It's not like the federal government has a problem attracting young people...oh wait (only 7% are under 30%, compared to 23% in private sector)

Another line from his podcast with @chrislhayes.bsky.social that stuck with me: "Between the option of an interview that could go badly and no interview at all, Democrats will always choose the latter."

So agree with this. We have to get out of the language games they're playing in abstraction and get them--and the media--into the game of reality.

Say it with me. As @pkrugman.bsky.social points out, it's not a buyout. It's not a severance package. It's a purge. It's a dubious and mendacious effort to make government more dysfunctional for citizens and more functional for the regime

Will be interesting to see who they blame 1, 2 years from now when presumably they will have "purged" the government of its DEI "problem"

The Twitter "fork in the road" email calls for a "extremely hardcore" workforce to Make Twitter Great Again (MTGA?). OPM? Zilch about productivity, effectiveness, etc. This isn't about efficiency or making the government more effective. It's a naked purge to make it MORE inefficient and erode trust
