The past couple months... I've had soooo much of the software and smartphone/PC technology I regularly depend on CHANGE A LOT. In ways I'm having trouble coping with. Wonder if any of you out there are experiencing this with your tech/devices? I can go into detail, but there's too much for this post

I just recognized a place (Astoria, OR) from the second shot of the movie "Sometimes I think about...[...]". The first shot was a rain grating with apples rolling into it. Does this mean I'm a big fan of Astoria, OR? Absolutely. But that was a crazy experience. 2nd shot. BAM I KNOW THIS PLACE

I just learned about this thing called Ranked Choice Voting. When you're voting for President, Senators, any seat, you get to rank your favorite first, then the next and the next. It's ranking, and I think it's one way to fix the Congressional gridlock

Why does being rich & powerful make you such a cry baby? Where's the magnanimity, happiness, kindness? It all just comes out self-pity & victimhood, & maybe that's the media covering them. For the record, Will Smith would've likely ruined all those movies he turned down.

@danpfeiffer.bsky.social dude, I really like what you add to the podcasts. You could be better by practicing speech pacing. Many listeners go to 1.25 or 1.5x speed, and you say important things very quickly after speaking slowly. So us 1.X listeners have to go back and slow it down

Watched the start of this vid, mentioned the theme to my mom, she said "Oh yeah, our missionary blah blah talked about this. Africans have no sense of time" (paraphrase). My jaw dropped through the floor. I may never be okay again. My world view has shifted hard. Gonna drink myself to sleep.
@benrhodes.bsky.social Maybe you remember: Jan-Feb 2003 I was reading online abt high ranking Iraqi General who'd fled and gave information to the US that Iraq had no WMD. The WMD (never-nuclear) was decade+ gone. I think he later returned to Iraq (well before 2003) & was killed? Who was that guy?
