I love #hiking at a walk and without headphones/ear buds to hear nature and really see and examine flowers and butterflies. One of my favorite flowers of this time of year (along with Joe Pye Weed and Ironweed), cardinal flower. Loves wet, find it on creek banks. #natureheals #stopandsmellflowers

Found this little guy in my side yard, facing the wrong way (street with crazy drivers). Knowing #turtles are resolute about travel direction I walked him myself across and safely to the other side. Be kind and #turtlerescue this spring!

#amwriting & finally completing a #memoir about #academia, hoping my timing is good, about how learning & school saved my life over the 12 years it took to finish AA BFA & MFA degrees to be an art prof, then spectacularly lose that career & rebuild an alternate one at age 52.

A 30 year old colored pencil. The brand, my favorite, now costs over $2.25 per pencil, and the university bookstore where I bought it after I earned my MFA in studio art closed forever during the pandemic. Glad to have it, must use it, sad to see it disappear through use. #visualartist
