Finally, some chips without any of that artificial stuff...

(Just a silly drawing to keep myself sane during a busy week. Done in about an hour or an hour and a half, with pen, watercolor crayons, and graphite.)

Apparently a long dnd session is a great time to get a lot of crocheting done. I did a good four or five sections (out of nine total). Only ten rows left, unless I decide it needs another section which is possible (luckily I'm doing alright with yarn).

It's worked vertically (so each row goes from the brim to the center, instead of around the circumference), and uses short rows for shaping.

I've been learning how to splice yarn over the course of this project and I tried a Russian splice this time, which was unexpectedly easy and also surprisingly strong for how short the splice was.

An unfinished crocheted blanket, with loose ends and an attached ball of yarn, laid out on the floor. It has 7 stripes in robin's-egg blue, light brown, chartreuse, and dark brown, repeating, with a thin bar of cream separating each stripe. Every stripe has a different texture (some have ridges, puff stitches, squares set out in relief, etc.). There are gray-socked toes poking into the bottom of the picture for scale (it's about four feet wide and three feet long).

Several pieces of a crocheted sweater laid out on top of each other on a blue and white rug. The yarn used is a slightly variegated, purplish-grey/cream color called "fog." Two of the pieces are large squares with alternating rows of double crochet and a square bead stitch, with bands of sideways ribbing at the bottom. The front piece has a cutout for the neckline. The very bottom of a sleeve is on top, all wrinkled from the increases after the cuff and with a hook still though.
