One of the many problems with a blanket buyout is that the people most likely to take them were senior employees with a lot of experience who had already vested in their pensions. Add in being overworked in a high stress job, and you've got a lot of vacancies in difficult, specialized areas.

Cory Booker was the first person I ever heard use the proverb "If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together." It's my thesis in today's Substack while at the same time Cory filibusters like a Democrat with a spine. Must be a sign.

My almost 4-year-old got a dragon in an egg for Christmas and when he opened it, he exclaimed, "It's a Bone Hydra!" I guess we've been playing #hades more than we realized.
