And then I had to quilt everything. Which actually was rather quick for once (this is also the spot I sent an email submitting the prize since I still had to bind it afterwards.)

It’s important to note that a lot of this fabric was cut by hand and was on the bias so the front paper was kept on to avoid stretching of pieces. But after it was secured I could do this!

From there there was a lot of matching lines and sewing. Foundation paper piecing is fun cause after you sew you get to pull the perforated pieces from the back.

Then everything was organized by color so I could more easily group the larger shapes together

From the quilt assistant pattern, I had to cut out 377 paper pieces. Those pieces were glued to the fabric I’d be using Elmer’s glue.

Eventually I landed on the sleeping ori and cleaned it up enough to get the sketch into the quilting software I used and spent hours editing the pattern

I should celebrate being able to create more. I was lucky enough to hangout last weekend with an old friend and we did some fabric resistance dye (that’s what the first two pictures are). I sent the first quilt off to be long armed, and the final pic is my brother’s cat + a baby quilt I finished up
