I think being unable to respond to "what was your first job?" in FR—and the massive, massive eyeroll to being asked to respond in FR—makes me (sadly!) think there is very minimal trying. If the NDP thinks competence in FR + EN matters...this ain't it.

appreciate that ndp thinks french is important but giving each candidate the best opportunity to express themselves well AND be understood in real time is MORE important imo
