Pluribus 1x07: "The Gap": What I love about this episode is how little dialogue there is, and yet there is a ton of storytelling taking place. And that visual storytelling is highly impressive, when one considers the landscapes being displayed. #Pluribus

Supernatural 8x08: "Hunteri Heroici": As soon as I saw the title, I remembered the main plot of the episode. I like having Cas along as the "third wheel"; he turned out to be very useful to the case in the end. And I love how Dean just rolls with the cartoon rules. #Supernatural

Not the biggest fan of the movie, but I’ve always been fond of this collection. Played this CD constantly when it came out in my college days!

Down Cemetery Road 1x08: "What Will Survive": Despite all the changes, the season (?) finale lands roughly in the same place as the source material. At least it retained one of the moments I was most anticipating! #DownCemeteryRoad

Today’s commuting pick:

David Bowie: hours… (1999)

From the Brilliant Adventure box set. After stretching in diverse directions through much of the 90s, this felt a bit more “safe”, though it is still pretty good and melodic.

Star Trek: Identity Theft by Greg Cox: For the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, we get a novel set (mostly) during the movie era, focusing on Chekov. For those of us who felt like Chekov never got the character exploration he deserved over the years, this is a fun adventure. #StarTrek #CoSoBooks

Jason Bieler and the Baron Von Bielski Orchestra: The Baroness Sessions (2025)

Bieler reworks some of his songs for a female voice and it works so well!

Babylon 5 4x14: "Moments of Transition": It's too bad the Minbari Civil War was so truncated; it would have been interesting to see a fuller version. Similarly, the lead-up to Sheridan's decision to take up arms was supposed to be longer. #Babylon5

The War Between the Land and the Sea 1x02: "Plastic Apocalypse": To be honest, not unlike Barclay, I think Salt has valid points. Sure, it is highly disruptive, but it's hard not to have a measure of sympathy. All that said, this isn't much of a war so far, despite how certain actions are described.
December 8, 2025 at 11:22 PM
The War Between the Land and the Sea 1x01: "Homo Aqua": I can definitely see the comparisons with certain storylines from Torchwood. This feels like it could fit into a similar mold. This first episode of the mini-series has me intrigued, though it is a very slow and deliberate setup.
December 8, 2025 at 10:28 PM
IT: Welcome to Derry 1x07: "The Black Spot": I've said it before, the most chilling evil in this series is not Pennywise. It's the humans. And we see that play out over the first half of the episode. #ITWelcomeToDerry

December 8, 2025 at 1:28 PM
Spartacus: House of Ashur 1x02: "Forsaken": I find it interesting how the writers can so quickly have the audience wanting Ashur, previously a reviled villain, to succeed. Part of that is wanting those around him to get a win, but people want to see the underdog prevail. #SpartacusHouseOfAshur
December 7, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Spartacus: House of Ashur 1x01: "Dominus": I was on the fence about this extension of the Spartacus franchise. I loved the original show, but this seemed like an unnecessary follow-up. To my surprise, after an awkward setup scene, this worked fairly well for me. #SpartacusHouseOfAshur

Pluribus 1x06: "HDP": Carol's discovery at the end of the previous episode is exactly what we thought, but it leads to some unexpected revelations. This is a slower episode, but as I find this entire situation fascinating, I was still riveted. #Pluribus
December 5, 2025 at 2:28 PM
Stranger Things 5x04: "Sorcerer": It took a little while to get there, but there were a lot of fun reveals in the second half of this feature-length episode. That final reveal was very satisfying as well! #StrangerThings
December 5, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Stranger Things 5x03: "The Turnbow Trap": Juggling all these characters is still pretty messy, but I like the direction most of the plot threads are headed. Some character beats don't work as well, at least for me, but the writers are keeping it all moving. #StrangerThings
December 4, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Down Cemetery Road 1x07: “Lights Go Out": Some of the things left out of the adaptation and some other big changes from the source material left me scratching my head. They find a way to drag things out, that's for sure. #DownCemeteryRoad
