It is unfortunate that this is not frontpage/a top story on any major news site. BBC is covering it however it is not on the front page at all!

Unfortunately, with Trump incoming I do not see this making any difference even if it passes

... would tip the balance of Public interest, and would force the government to increase investment in public transport and cycle infrastructure.

An increase in grass roots projects such as this is the ONLY way forward.

Would you be interested in starting a LTNFromBelow campaign in your area?

See these fines as simply the cost to operate.

Until fines are made to be a % of their annual turnover, new regulations are introduced to hold executives criminally responsible for their companies violations and environmental regulators budgets are boosted, no real change will occur.

investigation into another government body, or a private interest for breaching environmental regulations. They will then be handed a insurmountable fine (300k~) which will be <1% of that organisations annual profit.

Just as the wealthy see parking fines as the cost to park, these organisations 2/

Populists are very good at activating people's core negative emotions, identifying where they can maximise their impact and embedding themselves- this has happened in video games, streaming, social media, yt, and every online space as they are unaccountable.

Absolutely. You only need to join any Player V Player game for 20 seconds before you hear a slur or similar.

The competitive nature of games itself isn't responsible for the toxicity- as there are plenty of online games without this- it's the lack of willingness to sufficiently invest in moderation

The demonisation of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods / "15 minute cities" by the right, to ensure that the car and fossil fuel industry doesn't suffer is one of the most successful media campaigns since the plastic straws.

If we want our streets to be liveable again- we need to start with correcting..1/2

The alt right pipeline starts with the lack of political, civic and social education in primary.

DfE needs to stop over looking this key aspect of development and create a new curriculum as well as funding schools to have dedicated PSHCE teachers. So that they take it seriously.
November 8, 2024 at 11:58 AM
Schools, especially in the UK, are underfunded and overpopulated. You can't blame the teachers or the head masters for this.

PSHCE (civic studies for the americans) is a joke in England, with an unstructured vague curriculum, which most schools do not do properly...

The pipeline is real and getting worse. Especially with new-age media monguls such as Musk.

But video games are not the reason younger men "become right wing"- it's the unmoderated spaces they create and Foster. With properly moderated game chats and forums it wouldn't be an issue.

When a snap federal election is called in Germany, this must be remembered- as once a alt right party such as the Afd is in power in Germany-it will lead to the enabling of EU nations who are steering away from its mission- such as Hungary, and will lead to the entire EU moving right

...The Democrats.

Jill Steins VP pick was also transphobic.

The US Greens are unlike other green parties around the world and have been dissavowed.

The US system since its inception was created to reenforce this, and without mass constitutional amendment- this will not occur...3

The Republican Party is just as bad, I don't think any elaboration is needed here....

Third Parties are either irrelevant/unattainable due to the electoral college system, or they are tools of the main two parties...

Take Jill Stein and the US Greens- a tool of Trump to take votes away from... 2
