Not a football fan either, but my main impression of FIFA has always been centered around the word „corruption“. It‘s like the IOC, just with a narrower focus.

Well, it‘s currently mostly H1B visa, which you probably won‘t need anyway. Not for the ESTA one. Yet.
That doesn’t mean you should visit, of course. If I don’t get to visit, I don’t see why anybody else should.

I personally believe in the principle of charity and like to think the best of people.
Therefore I think that whoever claims the title of Home Secretary is immediately possessed by the ghost of Enoch Powell and turns into a braindead zombie when they leave the office.

Last time I was in London we spent some time in a brewpub. Next to us was a group of doctors, talking about the government. One of them loudly added „the fucking cunt“ to every mention of Wes Streeting.

The only checks I have seen in forever here in Germany were those for tax refunds my wife got from the IRS for when she worked in the US till 2020. Otherwise, maybe one check about 15 years ago..?

Same logic that means they would rather watch people go hungry than feeding someone undeserving. They don’t get that being decent to someone who wants to scam you does not mean you’re a fool, it still means you’re a decent person.
