I seem to keep composing melodies that I quite like but don't quite fit the vibe I'm aiming for. They just keep going into the "I can use this somewhere else in the game" pile. 🎵

I'm fairly close to having a 2nd public test build ready for my Game Boy RPG. There's a few things I want to iron out first and some songs that need composing (those towns have been quite for too long). I really drag my feet when it comes to composing music...

I've never developed a finished game whilst sharing the whole process like an open book before. I was worried that early praise would diminish my desire to continue, as that's happened before. However, I'm feeling confident that I can finish this one! It just might take a while...

I've been trying hard to balance the first half of my Game Boy RPG. I'm trying to think of things from the perspective of a new player who doesn't know where the best items are or the best method to defeat a boss. Yet at the same time, I don't want to make things too easy for those who do.

Finished a playthrough up to the 2nd boss in my GB RPG and made a hefty amount of notes of things that should be fixed, changed and added.
Including the fact that the 2nd boss is still too hard. I couldn't defeat them even while being overleveled...

I have to manually set the correct vars in memory for every chest and door I add into my Game Boy RPG. That's a lot of room for error!
I just came up with a method to check if they've all been done correctly. Out of the 100s of doors and chests, just one had the wrong var. Not bad going!
