:( the whole move to ETA (and ETIAS in the EU) makes me so sad; governments got a taste of surveillance during covid and now they can't let go. it's like a reversal of visa-free travel by a thousand cuts

what brings you to our shores? giving a talk one could attend maybe?

over the past few years i've considered asking folks in the rust community for an invite, but i've never been sure that it would actually be healthy to have an account

with the slowly-at-first-then-all-of-a-sudden-decline of r/rust, i thought i should give it ago. but now i'm not sure again lol

the convention of "i send you and email with a secret link, you click on it" seems like it wouldn't be thaaat hard to standardize & automate in the vein of List-Unsubscribe (email header with POST link + action description in subject, email client shows special UI & with one-tap confirm)
