In the world of Sunken, the dead are returned to the Ocean. Halfish people usually adorn the sheet that wraps the deceased with nets in which they place some of their personal belongings and trinkets, such as shells, smooth pieces of glass, or of colored metal and plastic.

We have a saying in Italy: “'dressing like an onion,” meaning dressing in layers so one's ready for any weather... Clearly, Nya didn't do that, and nights on the ship in the middle of the ocean can be very humid and cold, but luckily Ash is very caring.
