What I think is the worst is that Selena Gomez was critized (fairly) that she knows nothing of Spanish or Mexico, which makes it hard to connect with her character, she cried and got an apology after the backlash.

A French team made a story set in Mexico about a trans Latina woman with no understanding of the culture or the people. It's completely tone dead and falls into terrible tropes about trans people deceiving people around them. So frustrating that everyone gets theirs but the trans Latina community.
