The US government is a criminal organisation that kills their own citizens and the Guardian pretends we believe they are going after criminals and not those who resist their abuse of power. Such an accelerated loss of intellectual honesty is really shameful.

Machado is deeply unpopular, even Trump recognise that. They both are about the oil not democracy, human rights or anything of the kind

Machado is part of an elite that for decades benefited from the exploitation of the oil industry until a leftist government put an end to it. Venezuela has been harassed by the US and others (ie UK arbitrarily retaining their gold) since then desperate to regain control of those resources.

Venezuela has been left with bodies under the rubble, no electricity, no running water, communications interfered, food shortages, the fear of further attacks and this is what Corina Machado calls liberation, plus US corporations benefiting from their natural resources and not the Venezuelan people.
