No arguments here. We've have had our blinders on for decades. We've lost touch with our neighbors and our surroundings, falling further and further into isolation. We don't even shop for groceries anymore except through delivery. Red states forcing in-person voting does exactly what they want.

I think a lot people aren't into politics like many of us here are. They're into NASCAR and end up voting for Trmpuf or they're into farmer's markets and vote for Stein. It's more of a cultural thing to them. That's a gross simplification, but hopefully it makes the point. Politics is exhausting.

You can go into the tony parts of the Bay Area and find many wealthy suburbanite liberals who did stupid shit like voting for Jill Stein or JFK Jr. Translate that to MI or WI or PA where there are no "protest votes" to spare and you end up where we are now.

I've seen one, once. Whale watching trip to the Farallon Islands and we saw a Black-footed Albatross. Was quite the sight. Never saw any whales though. 🙄

Thanks. I've never really understoof the work as reward idea. Seems like something a medieval lord would tell his serfs. Not everyone is going to be able to land their dream job and have it neatly be or at least parallel their life's pursuits.

Do you hate the positive reinforcement, or do you hate the need for the positive reinforcement?
I am fascinated by the desire for gratitude when performing a generous deeds. I think we all do it, but, does that make us selfish for desiring that? Does it invalidate the deed?
