Fletch Lives remains the imperfect sequel to my ultimate comfort film that continues to become more enjoyable with each successive rewatch.

NW: #Fletch

My ultimate comfort film that never fails to bring a smile to my face, Fletch is filled with funny characters, memorable quotes and a lot of charm that the book lacks.

Nighty-Nightmare by James Howe

This is the last of the series that I remember having read but I didn’t remember much and like the previous installments, it was pure fun, especially getting Chester’s version of Bunnicula’s origin.

What an absolute fever dream of a dark comedy with the craziest sets and wackiest characters but I was never bored and I never knew where it was going.

Often loud and utterly ridiculous as it speeds breathlessly from the opening minutes to the end but a lot of fun as it hit me right in the nostalgia to make me feel like I was in my grandparent's basement with all my cousins on a Tuesday night in the 1980s.

Conan: The Halls of Immortal Darkness by Laird Barron

Such a great entry as Conan takes on the protection of a beautiful priestess in a well-written short with very beautiful prose and great twists that really had me guessing where it was heading.

Quarry’s Choice by Max Allan Collins

Quarry really is a fish out of water in this one as he travels on a personal assignment from The Broker that leads to Mississippi and the Dixie Mafia as the series rewinds to 1972.

The Celery Stalks At Midnight

The third entry is fast paced and sees Chester trying to convince Harold and new puppy Howie that something sinister may be happening with those vegetables that Bunnicula has drained juice from and so begins the incredibly well done farce.

A fun albeit brief look back at the phenomenon that was the Super Bowl Shuffle featuring some great interviews with both the behind the scenes people and several of those Chicago Bears players.

This is another childhood favorite that upon revisiting isn’t quite as good as remembered but still hits the right emotional notes, has a great John Barry score and I really love Christopher Lloyd’s cold blooded villain.

Simultaneously too much and not enough, I still look at this one through my the prism of my undying love for Helen Slater’s version of the title character but even I can admit the story is bonkers and doesn’t make that turn to good bad.

When it’s really cooking, it feels like a top notch Tom Clancy thriller but gets bogged down with forcing Sam to have both a Falcon and a Widow, and spinning so much plot out of the Incredible Hulk without a jade jaws appearance.

Another fun entry that sees Quarry forced to play detective in a small Missouri town to try and figure out if he’s on the right or the wrong track with an amazing finale.
