When I was in high school, we were only permitted to use phones in class when the teacher permitted, usually for things such as Kahoot!, Quizlet Live, etc, and it was beneficial and gave us the opportunity to learn in a way we enjoyed more than if we were made to use a computer.

As a teacher who doesn't love phones in my own classroom: I think phone use in class should be up to teacher/school discretion. I don't use them, but I teach fourth grade.

I am so glad that I live in Illinois. Pritzker has been fighting HARD to keep IL as safe as he can from this insanity.
