I read John Green’s “The Anthropocene Reviewed” over the course of my last four flights. I forgot most of its details across that span, but I remember liking all of it.

Five stars for the book. Four for the signature.

She dresses in an orange Greek himation with the left half of her back exposed. She has no left breast. A cylinder of glass runs back-to-front through her torso, revealing her crystalline heart at its center. Ruby arteries and veins lead from the heart into the rest of her body. The glass cylinder’s two exterior faces seamlessly meld with her skin on both sides. She holds a spear in her right hand, its point held down and out of view. Trails of blood on the shaft and on her fingers indicate she recently used it to kill an enemy. A cloth bandage wraps her neck, covering a shallow cut on the left side.

An "alternate cover" for my WIP novel.

When I copied the illustration from a flash drive, it corrupted in a way I found pretty interesting, so I kept that version, slapped a title back on it, and made it my first advertisement on RoyalRoad.
