Can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like to face these guys, or to stand in the slips to them, at Priors Flat - or even just to be able to watch them.

Probably not, but neither was it calling out for another, and new, branding-heavy format. We’re stuck with that seemingly, and these vast sums of money are surely underpinned by betting and tv deals (which are themselves interlinked)! Wait for game times to change to suit US or Indian tv markets

Purely on the basis of the TMS commentary, it sounded like there shouldn’t have been any doubt that it wasn’t a bump-ball or not a clean catch. Putting aside what the two umpires were looking at, would / should this have been obvious to the players on the field?

Snetterton was my ‘local’ as lived just down the road, but my first visit to Brands would have been for a rallycross GP - likely ‘82 or ‘83 as a birthday treat! That, and the 1000kms in the summer, were our twice yearly trips south
