Except Baseball is a legal monopoly so your example is not entirely on point. The issue with smaller teams, at least those that are actually TRYING to win is that they can NEVER outspend the large market clubs. There’s no way a KC, Cleveland or Baltimore can outspend the top market clubs.

Using the Royals title as a reason to NOT institute a salary cap is gaslighting. Only the major media markets can spend to win a title and when a mid or lower market team catches lightning in a bottle their stars are bought by the big boys.

Let's keep it 100, had the AIDS crisis been taking place in Europe, not only would PEPFAR still be around, evangelicals would be demanding budget increases for it. Simply put, because the victims are Black, they don't care. They're seen as less than human.
