Give this man a medal. He's doing a marathon 24-hour live radio show called Unexpected Number Twos, to highlight the problem of sewage pollution in our lakes rivers and seas. Leavened with songs that only reached Number 2 in the charts! Do send him a msg - he'd love to hear from you. #ourearthweek

#Ourearthweek has finally begun. And here's the first of our messages from COP, from Filipé França of the Universities of Bristol, UK and Parà, Brazil. We'll be following his progress and looking forward to hearing how it goes. Check out the CREN website for more info there's so much going on!

Thank you for your support! 🙏. I spent the afternoon talking to someone from Almost Synchro (a group of 50-something synchronised swimmers who train three times a week and perform all over the country, in all weathers). Here they are in protest at dirty water.

Lake District Radio DJ Lee Durrant is presenting non stop for 24 hours to highlight sewage pollution (unexpected number twos) in UK lakes and rivers. Playing songs that peaked at Number 2. Starts Friday 14th November at 8am. Tell him about your local pollution story and he’ll talk about it.

Shameful othering BBC! How about adding the category “white man in suit” every time you talk about climate breakdown, or fraud, or massive inequality? This kind of reporting is appalling. @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social please tell your colleagues in other news departments.

Please do let us know if you would like to contribute to this programme! Lee has 24 hours of airtime to talk about this so he's going to want to talk to lots of people!

Vosco Mantas generated climate stripes for four members of his family from different generations. Shifting baselines.

I agree. I’ve been keeping an eye on the BBC coverage and certainly the headlines are misleading and provide only very partial context. Anyone would think it was just about protesting, and not a regime attempting to foment protest.

The first in a series signposting eco shows on UK community radio. #OneLoveOnePlanet is @bcfmradio.bsky.social's environmental show which airs on Tuesday mornings at 11am. Tune in for local Bristol issues, yes, but also discussions about global ones too, and great music! Pic is of a past show.

I’ve been using Merlin ID for years and recommending it to everyone I know. It’s a global treasure using data from over 5,000 contributors. I’m sure the Cornell Lab of Ornithology is more famous than any other in the world as a result. It really enriches our lives.

Can I gatecrash this post? Not a Canadian but Moira Rose is my favourite comic character of all time! (And Schitt’s Creek one of my favourite sitcoms)
