Just a random Northern bloke who writes a bit of music occasionally.
The institution is an abstract construct & it's quite easy to protect the institution & what it is meant to be. The "enemies" are the people running the news & current affairs which is not the same. The BBC certainly needs reform in how it recruits so it reflects society as a public body should.

If it does die there will really only be the Billionaire Oligarch owned & controlled media for the masses. BBC obviously needs restructuring & reform as it is "institutionally biased" but not in the way most people tend to think.

1) How do you propose these compete against the Billionaire Oligarch controlled media outlets who can afford all the glitz & glam anyone could want.
2) I agree, the BBC certainly does all you say which Is the reason I'm a strong advocate of complete reform in the BBC, especially its recruitment.

It's ok to be closely related to very bad people as everyone knows absolutely nobody is influenced by their parents politics, ever in the history of the world.

You only have to look at the current Daily Mail to realise the current Viscount Rothermere is nothing like his grandad for example.

It really represents the whole Billionaire Oligarch sponsorship of moronic stupidity that has reached epidemic proportions in both the USA & UK. Truth & facts no longer matter & the Billionaire Oligarch class is actively promoting this dumbing down of society as its easier in theory to control.
November 1, 2025 at 9:00 AM
The problem you have is that you live in an oligarchy controlled by the Billionaire Oligarch class & voting for either of the Billionaire Oligarch controlled parties is just continuing down the same path, one begets the other. As Einstein famously once said

I certainly did back then & predicted as much on the other site Just as I predicted there would be an election in 2019 with Farage backing the Tories & that Boris Johnson would be gone well before the next election.
October 26, 2025 at 1:55 PM
By not ditching our undemocratic FPTP electoral system & using tired old "a vote for anyone else is a vote for Tories/Reform" Labour are & have been since their beginnings the real Tory enablers. The first Keir knew what was needed, current Billionaire Oligarch sponsored Keir refuses to bring in PR.
October 26, 2025 at 8:51 AM
The Billionaire Oligarch class determines what & how the media talk about politics & Billionaire Oligarchs have always been enamoured of Mussolini's brand of fascism which he called state corporatism, I wouldn't expect the minions who Murdoch & Co etc employ to hold fascists to account if I were you

It isn't possible long term in an undemocratic FPTP electoral system that's easily gamed by Billionaire Oligarch class. Sure there might be an occasional win like there was after 2 world wars but victories like that are so rare they might as well be non existent. The first Keir knew PR was needed.
October 24, 2025 at 9:25 AM
Thought for the day:
If you don't vote Labour you let the fascist RW Reform party win.
apparently.
Vote Caerphilly & tactically for parties that fully back ditching our undemocratic FPTP electoral system so Billionaire Oligarchs aren't able to gift Farage & Co a majority on a minority of the vote.
October 24, 2025 at 6:26 AM
For 100 years & more the establishment, & that includes the "establishment" Labour MPs, have pushed the same tired narrative "If you don't vote Labour its a vote for Tory(Reform) party.

In the last 100 years 2/3 of governments have been Tory.

The first & radical Keir had it right FPTP has to go.
October 23, 2025 at 5:34 AM
I'm certainly no centrist, feel free to peruse my timeline here & over on twitter over the last decade or so. I'm far more Keir 1 than the present Billionaire Oligarch sponsored incarnation who really is a pale shadow of the original.
October 16, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Indeed, this current incarnation of Keir is really not a patch on the original. Today's economic problems really aren't that far removed from those that resulted in the need for a radical political party, Labour is no longer that party.

Imagine what could be built if rather than relying on mostly psychopathic Billionaire Oligarchs paying for public good why not have them pay taxes at rates the same % as their cleaners as a minimum. I think the PM of the UK following WW2 had the best idea, his administration created the UKs NHS.

Thought for the day:
On the day after Farage's hero Donald Trump tells generals they're going to be on the streets against Trumps political enemies as expected the Daily Mail comes out in favour of our fascism as it did in the 1930's. Hurrah for ICE in USA, hurrah for the coming army on our streets.

Mandlesons response "it's been a matter of public record for some time"
It has & never been fully investigated. Only time Mandlesons has been (soft-balled) questioned he just said "I regret ever meeting him" & that was the end of that.
Starmers response when asked was.... & That was the end of that.
September 9, 2025 at 8:19 AM
I refer you to the 1930's & ask who did we end up fighting?
