Progressive, queer, an armchair liberation psychologist*, and increasingly unable to shut up. Also I'm a fancy numbers lady
Definitely. I already had some harmful notions about needing to protect unsuspecting others from (checks notes) knowing or being close to me, and then COVID gave my OCD the best ever opportunity to transmute "desire to keep others safe" into "excuse to vanish from public view"

The path to recovery would include accountability for the people who ruined it in the first place, which we have frankly yet to see.

Until the "recovery phase" no longer includes reaching across the aisle to screw the poor, then I think your chart here is a little myopic

Sensible to focus on the internal part (to avoid this turning into a well-worn bsky debate), tho I think those hard condemnations of others are often a reflection of the impracticable standards a person's moral OCD holds them to.

Still, one must understand it comes from within to act constructively

This is also not going to be about how moral OCD is driving the left to be too extreme. “Extreme” is great; we are bitdizzy adherents in this house. What is at issue is the manner of the “driving,” which I think may lead to faster burnout and eventual resentment-induced quietism or heel turns.

I struggle with Moral OCD, which got really bad for me in 2020 around COVID. I basically scrupled my way out of seeing anyone for 3 years.

The key questions to ask yrslf:

-is this actually advancing my moral goal?
-am I advancing my moral goal at the expense of my own needs and personal goals?

If this past year is the best it's been, then I'm ready to pack up the American Experiment and start something new.

Does it mean nothing that, a year ago, millions of marginalized people were afraid that an election might decide their fate was to be deported, detransed, or fired for their beliefs?

I love the film, but as an adaptation of the comic, it changes things I would have liked to see on screen. This may do that.

a pun worthy of being boiled until soft

Not to say this will be good, but the biggest failures of the film were that it crammed too much material into too little time. If nothing else I'm interested to see this as 4-8 episodes

This is where I felt S3 finally hit its stride -- it's often silly, and you can tell everyone on screen is having a fun time

If you were any kind of TNG fan, I do recommend Picard season 3 as delicious, wall-to-wall TNG fan service. They get the whole gang back together. Worf and Riker could make a killing in vaudeville

I really enjoyed binging nuTrek : Discovery, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, even Picard and Prodigy

I mean, he is a double agent in that he pretends to act for the benefit of human beings, when in fact he's purely an agent of monied interests
