the lack of gay marriage sucks but if it's any consolation you can unlock the ability to switch your character model and portrait to the other protagonist so you can be like, aesthetically gay

I recommend 3, the gameplay is very similar to 4 but the story is MUCH shorter so I think it gives you the best feel for the games without being overwhelming. and like others have said 5 is charming but pretty rough so I wouldn't recommend it as an intro to the series

waiting a bit sounds like a good strategy! I love 3 4 and 5 (altho 5 is a little rough 😅) but the gameplay isn't as streamlined as GoA and the writing is different basically. they're also way weirder but I like that 😂 in any case I hope you enjoy them!
