I love woodworking. I would LOVE to make a comfortable living with it.

I'm also insanely jealous that painters can make prints of their finished pieces to "keep the lights on" while waiting for their originals to sell.

#artists I don't know enough about the history of art, so do you know:

Because of the awareness artists have to see and translate life, do artists tend to be more ethical/have more humanity than non-creatives?

Could it be a reason behind "starving artists"?

I wish there was a way to prioritize follows. Something like "see everything" "see occasionally" "check-in and binge" or something like that.
I like bsky's pinned topic feeds, I want something like that for follows.

If you had categories what would your's look like?

I could use some advice.

I have an art festival/market this weekend and didn't get this finished in time. This is my second art festival so I'm still trying to gather info to build intuition. Should I take it and see if it sells raw, or leave it because it's unfinished?

Power carving has been a bit of a process to learn. The first time I used the angle grinder I almost successfully carved a bowl, until it kicked, the bowl exploded and the angle grinder hit my chest.
This bowl, though, I carved with the same angle grinder & sanding disk on the one year anniversary.

For the past 6 weeks the house has been extra full of puppy love. There will be tears when the puppies go to their forever homes.

January of 2023 I started building for the kitchen remodel I'd been dreaming of for ages. I thought my skills had progressed to the point it would come out alright. 15 long months of daily effort and a major leap in skills, it came out alright.

A different day a different workbench.

Before I started woodworking, I was [am] a dressmaker.

Unpopular opinion: cnc really *isn't* woodworking.

Not because I'm some sort of purist 💅🏻. I'm way too new to the trade to be that high-minded. But really it's graphic design and machining. Sure you may do woodwork before, and after, cnc --but its a completely different skillset.
