I absolutely loved this mechanic in Sly 2 and Sly 3 back on Ps2. I'm not a huge fan of the stamina aspect in botw tho. Gliding until inevitably falling to my death was a bummer for me but the game is fun nonetheless.

Rdr2 tho is where it's at. Amazing visuals and environment immersion
