Wouldn't be able to happen today, Marvin choose the other option. There are plenty of other lawyers are like minded but didn't have a case unique like Marvin's. A calm cool head could've ended the corruption, but a case has to be built.

That could have been easily appealed and many lawyers could have swarmed the case. That town could have burned with the cement factory and any other assets in his possession. That would have been a landmark case had he not went that route. Instead we still have those "corrupt" officials walking.

He had plenty other options that he didn't exercise, I bet there were plenty of lawyers who could have gotten a payday if he presented his case. If you listen to the tapes you could tell something was not right with him. He could have done worse if he wanted to be spiteful.
