What the hell did I just read??? And, more importantly, can I have some more?!??!
Very weird. Very unique. And very well written. Took me a couple of hours after the last page to get back in sync with our reality.

I do not know how to describe this book. It is weird, but the sort of weird that makes sense once you figure out what is really going on. It doesn’t stop being weird but you feel like the weird is just a logical result at that point. Well, maybe not logical...

It is amazing that Clair North was able to fit so much into a novella. There is horror. There is severe depression. But most importantly loss of control to abusers and corporations. I dreaded picking up this book and yet could not put it down. (Check TWs)

Fun! Did not learn anything new but it was nice to get all the facts organized under one umbrella/topic. Did make me crave a book on debunking UFOs!

Informative yet so very depressing, like all good non-fiction books seem to be now-a-days.
Very much a must read!

The series overall has its shortfalls. But it is such a unique world that I am willing to make plenty of allowances.

I did not expect such a nuanced take on our current problems in politics and society from this book. I did expect the dick jokes. :)

A gruesome topic covered in a very approachable manner. I didn’t think I could be this amused when reading about death.

I liked the idea, but the story itself seemed to lack both the horror and the whimsy. Not bad, as far as trope subversion goes, but not great either.

A wonderful telling about how one can be both a victim of society and yet greatly benefit from it. And how precisely those caught in the middle can do the most to change things. There’s also magic!
PS. I knew how it was going to end, but it still had me cackling.

Oldie but a goodie. Equal parts sad and messed up. Good read for the spooky season.

Dumbfounding, but not really surprising. These people, who financially supported Nazis and profited from the war through slave labor and arms sales, got to go on with their lives unchanged for the most part. Descendants are still super rich and the companies are still profiting from wars.

Had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book! Did not expect half the plot twists. Added a new fear to traveling long distances alone. Perfect spooky read for the coming cold.

No on page SA, which seems to have become common for the thriller genre especially for female protagonists.

Full of action and serious questions about the dangers of emerging technology. Really on topic for the brain implants that float to the top of the newsfeed every so often now-a-days.

If you have not yet read this you should read this! Such an interesting take on vampires. Some moral conundrums sprinkled in. Great action! Subverting of tropes in interesting ways.

The language of this book does a wonderful job of obscuring protagonist’s true nature. Considering this is a translated work, just adds to my amazement.
Not for those who are easily grossed out.

Some light non-fiction after a string of depressing non-fiction!

Entertaining. Good for a laugh. Very vulgar. 100% something worth playing while road-tripping with friends.

I just love his stories. Despite the often unlikable characters you can just feel the sarcasm and snark boiling under the narrative. Everyone is a sarcastic teenager just done with everyone’s shit, but in a fun way.

Finally a story about postmenopausal women getting super powers and dishing out vengeance. Not perfect, but has plenty of entertaining bits to makeup for the faults. Would 100% just read about Harriett’s adventures.

Good, but not drop everything and read this good. Really dray in places. Makes some valid points that are worth exploring further. Articulates ideas that I have had for some time but was unable to coherently verbalize. Last ~25% is notes and references.
