Don’t get me wrong: I love all the movies and shows. They each deliver something special to me. But I always wanted something where the space wizards weren’t going to save the day. Where ordinary people are put into extraordinary circumstances and forced to answer the question: “what now?”

I was happy to go on hearing about the thousand inconveniences of life without power after a storm offers us. Content to feel the tension of hanging out with a unliked neighbor out of necessity. But then he reminds us: Something is coming. Something dangerous.

Like right now in THE MIST I’m so involved in thinking about how a grocery store would function without power and all the hundreds of ways we get tricked up without power that I legit forgot there was a terrifying Mist that is encroaching on the narrators world. That it was just beginning.
