As a deaf person, this really hit home. This could have been me. Fever at age 3, lost most of my hearing, totally deaf at age 63, now have cochlear implant, but not 100% able to understand speech. Your writing is incredible. Give Mean Cat a pat for me.

I, for once, have no words left. I've been in such a mental tailspin since last November. I had been given such hope prior to that but it all crashed and burned in one fucking day. I'm not that active on FB anymore except for one group which gives me so many laughs.
