Undergraduate coordinator for UGA Entomology Dept, which includes both entomology and applied biotech majors. (Help find my kids jobs!!) Opinions are my own.
Apparently, y'all are really into bugs, @dragoncon.org! Fortunately, so are we! Had a great time with the "So, You Like Bugs" panel. See us tomorrow for the Insect Petting Zoo for hands-on science (11:30a) and Bugs and Superheroes (2:30p). See y'all there! 🪲🐞🦋🦸🏼‍♀️💖

I'm so fortunate to have been passed this opportunity from THE @bug-gwen.bsky.social! If you're around for DragonCon in a few weeks, come see me (and our insect zoo critters)! 🕷️🪰🦋🐜🐝🪲

Check out our new paper on the use of insect specimens for the Science Olympiad entomology exam! I worked with two awesome students who have been involved with Science Olympiad for a long time, and their input was so valuable! 🦋🪲🦗🐜

Rebuilding an old course from scratch with help from materials of some other folks. This is a good recommendation. Can confirm! 😂🐝💖

The Bug Bites (undergrad entomology club) asked me to do a pinning workshop. Their best time was after 5:30p on a Friday. 🫠 They had fun though. (And so did I) 😊🪲🐞

I oversee Entomology and Applied Biotech majors, so we've been touring different biotech focused companies in our area. Today, we visited Boehringer-Ingelheim in Athens, GA and learned a lot about what they do for parasitology research! Really cool stuff! 🦟🦠🧬🖤❤️

Our sweet girl, Bonnie, had a near death experience at an outreach event the other day! 😱 Luckily, she's fine.. and she gets a well-deserved break from being an outreach icon and queen! 🕷️👑 She's a very good girl and just wants kids to know that.. while moving just a hair slower. Heard, Queen. 💖

I've been slowly working on creating a collection of the wide variety of jobs that entomologists do! We're up to 17 different jobs (with 2 more hopefully in the works 🤞🏼). If you know anyone who would be willing to add, please share my info! This is a resource for my students and anyone else! 🐞❤️
