LinkedIn is loosening its policies to let more "newsworthy content" through. “This could be content ranging from medical procedures performed by a surgeon or real-world images of war shared for awareness or newsworthy purposes," the company said.

"Reddit has signed content licensing agreements with Google and OpenAI, among others, yet in order to maximize the potential of its data offerings, it needs to ensure that there’s value in exclusivity, in order to incentivize others to pay for such."

Fewer and fewer people are subscribing to their local paper, watching the news on TV or exploring news websites on their own. More readers are expecting the news to find them. Whether they realize it or not, many are putting their trust in companies like Google & Meta to decide what’s worth knowing.
