I believe it was a recent interview on Moontower (with WeAreAustinTV I think), where they drew that same comparison to Houston losing their fan base.

AustinFC has been wildly successful and marketable business wise, despite only logging 1 decent year out of 4.

They currently still have a very passionate fan base that turns up always, but that does not last forever if you don't invest in the club and start winning.
