I sincerely don't understand why Spider isn't more widely discussed in Cronenberg's oeuvre. Powerfully restrained work both in front of and behind the camera. It deserves a quality physical media release on par with @secondsightfilms.bsky.social's editions of The Brood and Scanners.

Finished watching Witchhammer (1970) last night and that's an infuriating film. It's marvelous but a tough watch if only because it feels so timely to the hellscape we're in right now. #folkhorror
