If you're interested in reconnecting, decline the invite but follow up with an invite to get coffee. If you're not interested, bin it and move on.

I'm all for reconnecting with old friends (just ask @robotviking.bsky.social ) but using a gift-giving occasion to start the process is tacky, at best, and downright shameful at worst.
