Haven’t been to Drupalcon in a bit, saw the email. $1k for a ticket? That’s a lot. Especially for younger people wanting to get into to Drupal. My first con I needed to sleep on another’s couch, got there via gifted air miles. Now? No way. I wouldn’t be in Drupal now if it had been that price then.
