For those keeping score at home, we are completely and totally screwed. I'm betting yesterday's efforts to reduce capacity by FAA has now accelerated controllers calling in. We now have massive staffing triggers all over the system. (DCA is at 240 minutes!)

It's a warm and sunny day here in Long Beach, but just east of here? The monsoon has crept west and it is blocking a lot of airspace. This flight from San Diego to Phoenix is fun to watch.

Today I learned Air Wisconsin CRJ-200 N471ZW in retro colors is known as "El Guapo," which is awesome
This airplane has quite a checkered past, flying for Independence, go!, and Mexicana Link... all of which went bust. Air Wisconsin, to be clear, is still flying

Qatar has closed its airspace and I'm watching on @flightradar24.com as Qatar Airways diverts planes to the nearest airports. Were I a betting man, I'd say an Iranian attack is coming shortly and they gave the Qataris a heads up. www.reuters.com/business/aer...
