Irish ambulances & public hospitals are free, an ER fee is payable if not admitted to hospital. Insurance covers a (slightly) nicer ward or part payment for GP, physio, private specialists, etc which are free for those on lower incomes. All fees & drugs are much less expensive than the US.

I bought my personal dive computer about 30 years ago and was lucky to find an elderly service engineer who was delighted to get it working when I resumed scuba after a 15 year break.

Maybe politics wouldn't be so polarised in the UK and USA if you had a nice, complicated voting system like we have in Ireland to occupy your political energy. Not to mention providing a bit of choice in who to vote for 😉
