Also, what's with this thing that because I see a problem with unidentifiable ebikes being driven illegally that I automatically have no problem with cars? I drive. I'm also a cyclist. The comment was about unregulated and illegal (UK) ebikes ridden dangerously by people in masks in pedestrian areas

Risks of cars are acknowledged and some measures are taken to address them. Cars are supposed to have identification information allowing meaningful consequences when drivers break laws intended to improve safety, such as not driving through a busy pedestrianised area. Ebikes don't. So no deterrent.

I've not had cars with masked drivers shooting past me at speed in a pedestrianised area.
