I am not enthralled with the idea of JD Vance taking over. He has the charisma of someone who has been lobotomized and the morals of Pol Pot. It will be a miracle if he survives his term given his diet. A few more lbs. and he will be able to eat free at this establishment on Fremont Street in Vegas.

At least the cat houses serve drinks and the "transactions" are by mutual agreement.

As mega-corporations continue to consolidate their ownership of the media ecosphere, people are caught between consuming right wing propaganda or taking a deep dive into the malignant rabbit holes of the "podcasters," and "influencers," proliferating on internet platforms. Ai (e.g.) Grok, is worse.

In $$, human lives, or the orange man adopting the tactics of his hero's: Xi, Jung Un, Putin. Orban, etc. The cost is far too high no matter what metric is used.

The same type of thinking that leads to atrocities all over the world, now and historically. "I was only following orders," is no moral reprieve.

In addition to already being a convicted felon, Trump is working hard to add "war criminal" to his resume.

And it seems for Argentina and Trump's moving massive military assets into the Caribbean as he uses high tech fighter jets and missiles to conduct extrajudicial killings of alleged drug smugglers.

The cruelty of Trump, going to the Supreme Court to deny food to hungry people, while he sends $20 billion to Argentina, decorates the White House like a bordello, demolishes the east wing, extorts businesses and universities, aligns us with despots, and continues zero sum politics is shameful.

Trump's abuse of tariffs is a clear reflection of a moribund GOP, ceding all their power to a wannabe dictator. Congress could stop him if a few Republicans had a spine.

The only way to maintain public support for safety net programs is to ensure the public feels they are the neediest of the neediest. There is share-of-cost Medi-Cal for those who exceed the income requirements, and waivers for those trying to re-enter the workplace. What limit do you support?

Always relief for top 1 percent. The GOP is excels using anecdotes to deflect.
They showed deserved concern re: the murder of Laken Riley. No rote "thoughts and prayers." With the new budget, thousands of people will die, disabled will languish, gun violence will continue. They have no mercy here.

Tone deaf would be a charitable description of her statement. Cruel would be her "apology" video filmed in a cemetery.

The crypto made it into Trump’s account.

Santa Cruz County is gorgeous but also has a large agricultural sector. I have yet to see an Anglo, bent over doing the back-breaking work of tending to the strawberries, lettuce, and other produce grown here. Thanks to immigrants!! They must be paid a minimum of $16.50/hr. and 1.5x for over 8 hrs.

Better to replace the battery to stop the beeping. Carbon monoxide poisoning is usually lethal.
