Hard question asker, investor, doer and hopeful for the future generations
It was so great to see some friends last weekend. I am clearly a "gen X" and our views on property ownership, taxes and the state are well and truly neoliberal/ neoeconomic based.
As I move towards a more democratic socialist view of life, I am seeing the

This is a pretty interesting idea.
Who is the minority that is really making changes to the very fabric of the society that we live in?
The ONLY way to stop them is through joining a community and standing together.

I am so impressed with keeping the original style of the arcade connecting Degraves Land and Flinder station, and in the future, the Metro tunnel somewhere in there... Maybe behind the old "telephones" doors will be the opening to the modern station.
I can't wait to see it.

I saw one recently this week that made me think of this one - so sharing.
To uber or to private car?

Masculinity has certainly been called into question these days. The far right are jumping on the fact that young men in particular are feeling left out of society - but this is step to far I think.
Do we really need to start WWIII just to make men feel useful again?

AI is a huge topic right now.
I think the energy we use for it should be a bigger part of the debate, let alone the jobs it is taking. The way it is changing the way we interact, work, etc.
COVID changed it, and not for the better - stats like suicide are just too high to ignore that fact.

Where are you on the spectrum?

I am probably the worst for this... and also the most frustrated when this stuff doesn't work "like it should"
Sometimes walking over and pressing a physical switch is just easier!

Still find it funny how the United States hasn't adopted the metric system... but...

Friday Funnies.
Of course, also relevant, and luckily I will never be visiting the US whilst they are a fascist state, which will probably be at least 4 years, longer if they don't do something about it.

Adam Smith was a great economist. But the invisible hand theory needs a government that is paying attention, not one that is being paid to look the other way.
South Australia is looking like a greater and greater state to live in, or at least model!
Bring on more states that act this way

This really cracked me up. Fast trains or attention? Which is better for us?
Reading The Anxious Generation atm... Social Media is not the answer to our problems, it is the problem.

Totally wanky coffee spot in Collingwood... Roastery, cup of coffee ranging up to 120!
Kinda fun. My beer glass looking cup was cooled with liquid nitrogen. Crazy.

This makes me giggle.
It also stresses me out. The crazy fact that we have so many of these in our guts and bloodstreams. What have we done to ourselves....

Besides the companies in the US dropping targets like crazy, even in the other developed nations ESG has just been a greenwashing exercise.
The fact is, it is not profitable - and Friedman said "get profit"
The regulations are 10 years behind - and lobbied out of existence or watered down anyway.

Hilarious. But oh so true. I have over 1000 passwords stored in my password vault! 1000+ ridiculous . Maybe we need a SSO - Single Sign On, that isn't owned by bigtech... Something that allows you to self host, or host on a locally owned/controlled server.

What a beautiful story about a man that was a good husband, and a good man - but a gruff, sometimes angry guy. Always doing the right thing. Heartwarming

I am so sad at the way we treat the natural world.

@michaelmezz.bsky.social can't find your podcast on my app? Are you only publishing on the big broligarchy owned networks Spotify and YouTube?

I'm just finished this beautiful movie and had to share.
I'm sitting on a bus from Adelaide to Melbourne and this title jumped out at me.
And wow, #beautiful Story that hit me hard, especially the ending.
Hard to watch, laughing, crying, proud, admiration. Such a great film.

@yanisvaroufakis.bsky.social funny how on your broligarchy/ technofuedulism page you are promoting sharing the story to the biggest networks, and not highlight OS like Mastodon/ fediverse first. Then sort of OS like @bsky.app... haha
Also your books page needs updating...
