Yes, because in nature, if you look carefully, you can find Emission Credit deposit boxes. If you deposit the credits you've accumulated, you can burn an equivalent amount of fossil fuel and nature will give you credit for it and won't be destroyed in equal parts. They teach this in biology now.

When the case study is written years (or weeks) from now: "It turns out launching a 5th taxi service in Austin, Tx wasn't enough to save a Trillion dollar empire"
May 16, 2025 at 8:48 PM
It is no one else's responsibility to bail Tesla out of the position he's put it in. The employees have had plenty of runway to see it's not a good company to work for, a non union shop with the highest rates of injury in the US auto industry.

Elon is the one that put the company in the position it is in, associated with a fascist. So he's the one that is tanking sales that will cause severe unprofitability. He therefore is hurting the employees and company you seem to care so much for. It's the price he's paying to do what he's doing.

Any organization that protected systemic serial child abusers would be criminally charged and shut down. So should the Catholic Church be permanently closed for business. Jesus never mentioned the Catholic church. It's existence is blasphemous to Jesus's message.

If you told me in the 90's that so much of tech in 2025 would be focused on reinventing a taxi cab company, and that a new cab service launching in Austin in June would be the crux of saving a trillion dollar empire who's founder bought the presidency, I would have said that was a bold prediction.

Ed, how could ev credits play into teslatakedown? Could European countries ban purchase of credits from Tesla? I heard they make a lot of those credits.
March 31, 2025 at 10:08 PM
Maga obviously won't buy Tesla's, but even if they wanted to, I was curious where Tesla service centers even are... I've never seen a map so urban & liberal centric for a single product. Some distances must be massive in this country.
March 31, 2025 at 12:00 AM
I was thinking of getting an EV. Maybe I'll go with the brand promoted by the maga-nazi crew. That makes sense.
March 29, 2025 at 11:41 PM
A true counter-protest would be buying a Tesla. Maga-nazis showing up just proves the point of most of the protest signs.
March 29, 2025 at 11:03 PM
They're kind of doing our job for us by showing up. If a bunch of right wing Nazi sympathizers hang out at Tesla locations to show their support, we won't need to make all these signs pointing that exact thing
March 29, 2025 at 1:11 AM
I can't think of an instance where the counter-protest just served to further reinforce what the protesters were trying to say. We're saying he's a right wing Nazi sympathizer. So if a bunch of right wing Nazi sympathizers show up... In fact, if they agreed to stay, we could just go home.
March 28, 2025 at 10:49 PM
A true counter-protest would be buying a Tesla, not protesting the protesters. But they're not interested in that.

This throwing around of 'curing cancer with ai' is getting infuriating. The CEO of nvidia recently did this as well. Want to help with a cure? Partner with actual cancer researchers and provide funding and computing power to people who know what they are doing.

Plus, articles today on "Elon's back in the building"... Probably planning how to manipulate those Q1 delivery numbers.

Musk is back in the building — the Tesla one: Morning Brief
Investors aren't ignoring Tesla's fundamentals, they just believe in Musk's promises.

Did you see how Democratic congressmen are buying TSLA? This needs to stop.

In Congress, Republicans steer clear of investing in Trump Media or Tesla
Politically, Republicans can’t get enough of what President Trump and Elon Musk have wrought. But they have not put their money where their mouths are.

The brand of antibiotics didn't start with an 'x', did it?

Plus, it's a fraud to flaunt the notion that lithim battery production will be carbon neutral at some point. It's an environmental disaster that consumes huge amounts of water.
March 20, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Realistic debt is way higher for battery production. Even if I go with your us grid and tone down my c debt estimate, it's at least 4-6 years for model y lr and model s. So if you trade in at 5 year or lease for 3, you've achieved nothing on carbon savings.
March 20, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Check out the Financial Times piece today on Tesla cash flow and capex. The missing 1.5 Billion. And why issue debt with such great cash flow.
March 20, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Look, if cash flow goes below debt service, the debt holders repossess the company and sell it to a union shop. No employee is fired and they end up with far better benefits!!!
March 19, 2025 at 10:03 PM
I just heard about someone trying to trade in a 1 yr old Tesla for a Toyota and the dealership said they weren't taking Tesla trade ins at this time due to zero resale value.
March 19, 2025 at 12:33 PM
Actually, the carbon debt generated in the making of long range lithium ion batteries takes 8 years to drive off before any gains on a gas guzzler. The warranty on a Tesla battery is 8 years. Tesla is selling a dream, not reality.
