I heard an interview with him a while back where he talked about having Parkinsons disease. It seems like there's suddenly a lot of actors currently working with Parkinsons...or trying to stay in the business somehow. Its nice they can keep working.

Sounds like this could be your thing: Silent Book Club doesn't talk about one book or any books... just meets at breweries and reads silently near one another.

What's the most you ever lost on a coin toss, Charlie Brown?

Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too"

It might be smart for Mpls BET to try to request that data, or an anonymized version. No better breadcrumbs for looking at rental performance and possible tax improvements. Homesteaded properties being rented out. Ensure rental licenses. Maybe diversion plans for landlords with unpaying renters.

I was just talking about this. FB reminded me that 18 years ago, we had extraordinarily late fall. Leaves fell in the middle of Nov, and were raked by 11/20. Now, my leaves are never fully on the ground by mid Nov. Legitimate 2+ week difference over less than 20 yrs.

How have they not merged with DudeWipes? Missed opportunity.

It's not called "Private Ice"? Real miss opportunity.

One more for fun...the furthest identical addresses in the state of MN are likely 101 7th St, St Vincent, MN 56755 (almost Canada/ND) and 101 7th St, Brownsville, MN 55919 (almost Iowa/WI). 450 miles or so apart.

OK. I did the analysis. 2023 Portland Ave is the closest exact match...over 4 miles apart. But if you expand your cities a bit, 2906 Old Hwy 8 in St Anthony is only about a half mile from 2906 Old Hwy 8 in Roseville. Both are homes. I would bet Uber/delivery drivers have made that mistake before.

2515 Franklin is about 1.6 miles from 2515 Franklin...but separated by the Mississippi and freeway. I think someone missed my wedding due to this exact issue...back in the hard-copy printed Mapquest days.

So good.

When you ignore directions in addresses, there are roughly 900 addresses that match between the two. Como seems about as close you can get. Franklin and University might have a fighting chance.
September 30, 2025 at 5:32 PM
At the risk of ruining a perfectly good game, but there are 83 exactly identical addresses (including directions) between the two cities. All avenues - Laurel, Lincoln, Park, Portland, Summit.

This same conversation happened in the back seat of my car yesterday with a 13 year old. The upcoming KPDH-fan v. tik-tok-user censorship wars will be bloody and piercingly high-pitched.

A melting pot has no inherent bonds to fall back on when there are growing societal forces and technical tools to push on the cracks. I don't think there is any other nation with as many potential divisions as the US. India might be close & they are feeling a lot of the same pressures.
September 25, 2025 at 9:19 PM
Media/internet added thousands more facets to divide the media and fill our brains without filtering for truth, stability or functionality....as diversity grew to less comfortable levels. Its a precarious experiment in a volatile laboratory. It may be that human brains aren't made for this.

Even limited cultural technology kept us together...there were only 3 tv stations, everyone watched Johnny Carson and football on Sundays, with same commercials. The space-race & duck-and-cover drills. Then the USSR fell and people like Rush Limbaugh realized they could made millions dividing us.
September 25, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Which makes it easy to try to divide. The US has obvious history of being divided (slavery, civil war, civil rights, minority religions, waves of foreigners) but prominent religion, race, common enemies, and even the shared "American Dream" have always sort of held things together.
September 25, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Most other nations have other ties that bind. Usually more compact geography with more common culture, history, traditions, race, religion, language, enemies, sports heroes, authors, music traditions, food, etc. The US is large & multicultural, combining people from different backgrounds.

This is Mrs Craiginmn's favorite movie. She'll appreciate the endorsement. For me, it didn't live up to the "you've got to see my favorite movie" hype, but it is enjoyable.

It important to pair it with a 5 year old mayonnaise, so as to properly complement the vintage and bouquet. By all means, avoid the beaujolais mayonnaise.

I'm almost certain it is now storage/offices for a Somali charter school.

They went mostly online over the past few years, then tried to sell/lease off half the campus a year ago. Presumably no takers, and they are now shutting down the whole campus completely. Not for sale yet, but it will be.

A real glut of development options. Graco, Strib print plant, Westrock paper plant, St Paul Ford plant, Allianz area, St Paul Sears, UMN golf course, Luther Seminary, plus light rail extensions & empty DT office buildings in Mpls & St Paul. There can't be enough $ and labor to rebuild them all.
